Table Of Contents

Chap. 1 Covers work from late 1998 to mid 1999.  Mostly centered on the rotor and antenna build out. Rotor Servo Problem 12/26/98, Move Rotor to the Pole 12/28/98, Ready Antenna and Control Box 12/29/98, Antenna in place and working 1/22/98, Antenna Monitor AS Of 1/29/99, Feed Horn and LNA AS Of 1/25/98, FFT AS Of 1/15/99', Scope Repair AS Of 1/25/99, Giant Leap Forward 3/2/99, More Rotor Problems 3/14/99,  Horn and LNA Installed 3/30/99, First Drip 4/2/99
Chap.  2 I picked up a radio for the system at the Dayton Ham Fest and spend most of the time working on it. WiNRADiO installed 9/5/99, WiNRADiO receiving the Weak Signal Source 9/13/99, SETI Net Dynamic Address 9/27/99, RF Test Range 10/10/99, WiNRADiO 1500 AGC Defeat 10/14/99
Chap.  3 I decided that someone should look at unifying the data collection process and started designing SML. Data Format FITS & XML 10/27/99, Baseband Output, Phase Noise Measurement, Software in Progress - (1/15/2001),
Chap.  4 During testing I ran into a lot of noise in the system.  This prompted the design of a front end filter. Comb Line Filter - (1/21/2001), 20 KHz receiver Bandwidth Modes - (3/15/2001), Filter Installation - (3/25/2001), Enclosure
Chap.  5 More concentration on the software side of the system in this chapter.  I was able to lock the antenna to a point in the sky using the SETI Net Clock software  Antenna Position Lock ( 6/15/2001) and was able to integrate a sky map to show just where the antenna is pointed Integrate the sky map (7/9/2001) I was also able to create the first waterfall image of the sky when locked and tracking Waterfall (9/9/2001).  The recording and playback of the data stream proved to be a daunting task only partially solved during this period Recording and Playback of Raw Data -(11/1/2001 ) and finally I tackled the ever-present problem of making the waterfall display presentable in Normalization of the receiver band pass (12/7/2001).
Chap.  6  Receiver chirping and the decision covering receiver integration is covered in this chapter.  Also contains one of those rare items - an epiphany

  I must look for myself

Chap.  7 This chapter covers advances in SML, the Antenna Rotor repair task   and the development of an Audio subsystem block diagram
Chap.  8 During this period I managed to get a working SML and WAV file connection  moved SETI Net to a commercial server
Chap. 9 The initial steps toward a SETI database was started Database development for SETI data (2003-12-05 2004-02-11)  and then continued Database development for SETI data (2004-02-12 to 2004-04-06).  I did a fair amount of thinking about the database Thinking Out Loud (2004-04-06 to 2004-05-24 ) But little actually got done.

Returning from a long RV trip I found that the rotor had failed.  This required  a YARR (Yet Another Rotor Rebuild (2004-05-24 to 2004-07-08))

Chap. 10 I finished another antenna software rebuild (Antenna Software Rebuild (2004-07-09 to 2004-08-01))This chapter also contains a block diagram of the sound system in Windows computers and is needed to understand how to configure it for SETI work.   The SETI File Archive was put in place in a prototype condition (2004-08-01 to 2004-09-03)
