Hit occurred and was recorded

Notes:

  1. I ignored this hit while doing other things and when I came back to it I could not find the signal again
  2. The JPG shows a very light carrier far to the right edge
  3. The next day (2009-06-24) I reacquired the signal at Ra 11.46 DEC 12.43.  It tripped the alarm at 18% and does show the correct type of Doppler.
  4. Signal dropped out for now.
  5. Acquired again.  The signal is at Ra:11.69 DEC 5.38.  Not quite the current position of Saturn but not far from it. Recording now although the alarm is off.
  6. Now alarming.  Bin 1733, bin shift at 33.
  7. Signal is in bottom third of the JPG with a second one in the top 1/3. They appear to be different signals.
  8. Bottom signal still trips the alarm with the threshold set to 17%
  9. The signal is now very 'sketchy'.  Coming and going at random intervals.
  10. I'm going to crank the SpecAns up to full resolution.  Its now at 2.69 Hz/bin but changing to 1.34Hz/Bin
  11. This resolution does sharpen the signal a lot and it seems to be tracking the expected Doppler.
  12. Again - waiting to see if alarm trips at this resolution.
  13. Alarm not tripped. It looks like the signal is shifting down band quite a bit faster then Earth Doppler.
  14. I moved the receiver to 1438,262,800 to get the signal in the center of the passband but now the signal is gone again.
  15. I cannot disqualify this signal.  I'm going to sleep on it and look again tomorrow.
  16. The next day (2009-06-25) I looked again and did find a strong carrier at Az 121° El 31°.  I'm not sure what it is but its not ET.  The signal drifts a lot and does not follow the stars in time.   BUSTED
