Hassaleh (HIP 23015)

Hassaleh is an orange bright giant star in the constellation Auriga. At 491 light years away, it is the 112nd brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 2.69. The iron abundance of Hassaleh is -0.08 (83.2% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 22.3 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 24,500 and 28,800 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 5.3 million years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 1.59 from a distance of 296 light years.
